Maneuver forces arrest man over loose firearms during search warrant

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Authorities arrested a 49-year-old man and seized illegal firearms, ammunition, and other illegal items during the implementation of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591, Section 28 (Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act) in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Magalang, Pampanga on Friday morning (Oct. 18).

The operation was led by elements of the 302nd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 (RMFB3), headed by Major Ryan P. Casupanan, in collaboration with a team from the Technical Support Company under the supervision of Maj. Mac Arthur D. Avilla, Deputy Force Commander, RMFB3, personnel from Magalang Municipal Police Station and 2nd Pampanga Provincial Mobile Force Company under the overall guidance of Col. Enrico E. Figueroa, Force Commander, RMFB3.

The search warrant No. 24-374, issued by Hon. Eda P. Dizon, Executive Judge of Branch 60, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Third Judicial Region, Angeles City, Pampanga, led to the seizure of the following items: One Cal .45 pistol Mark VI Seattle W.A. with a magazine and six live ammunition rounds, Two magazine assemblies with 13 rounds of live ammunition for Cal. 45, One box of Armscor with 41 rounds of live ammunition for Cal. 45, One Thunder Cal. 380 Bersa pistol with magazine and seven rounds of live ammunition, One magazine assembly for Cal. 380 with seven rounds of ammunition, One box of cartridge cases containing 31 rounds of Cal. 45 ammunition, One box of cartridge cases containing 29 rounds of Cal. 380 ammunition, One M69 fragmentation hand grenade, One heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and One aluminum foil and one plastic tooter in an eyeglass container.

Brig. Gen. Redrico A. Maranan, PRO Regional Director, commended the operatives for their professionalism and adherence to due process during the search warrant’s implementation.

He stated, “This successful operation is a testament to our commitment to maintaining public safety and the rule of law. We will continue to act decisively against those who violate the law and threaten the peace and security of our communities.
