SUPPORTERS of former Vice President Leni Robredo have started to regroup to launch a new movement to rally her 15 million supporters in the 2022 presidential elections, this time, to support the senatorial bids of former Senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan.
In a statement, the iMk Leni group said it will reach out to other “pink groups” to rally the 15 million Robredo supporters, into a movement to ensure the victory of both Aquino and Pangilinan.
“The Senate is bound to be lorded over, again, by a bunch of charlatans, incompetents, convicted stealers of government coffers, insensitive yet sweet-talkers, and unrepenting murderers if we do not deliver Kiko and Bam to victory in 2025,” the group said.
The Robredo supporters added that Aquino and Pangilinan earned public trust through solid track records during their previous Senate stints.
“Ang kanilang mga pananaw at adbokasiya ay umaayon sa ating mga hangarin para sa isang makatarungan at totoong mapagkalingang lipunan,” it added.
The group called on the 15 million voters who supported Robredo in the 2022 elections to show the same energy and enthusiasm in encouraging others to vote for Aquino and Pangilinan in the upcoming polls.
“Ipamalas natin muli ang ating angking galing at sigla sa paghimok sa ating kapwa. May puhunang lakas tayo na 15 milyong Pilipino upang ipagwagi si Bam at Kiko. Hindi tayo bibitiw sa ating pangarap para sa mas magandang bukas,” it added.
The iMk Leni statement was signed by Elmer Argaño, Secretary General, along with coordinators Ricky Mallari (Luzon), Nick Malazarte (Visayas), Fave Sevillano (Mindanao), Rogel Garcia (NCR), Amefah Bansao (BARMM), and JC Luna (Media).
During his time as Senator, Aquino championed the passage of vital laws that championed the welfare of the youth, entrepreneurs, and the underprivileged, including the Free College Law and the Go Negosyo Act, among other significant laws.
The Free College Law has paved the way for millions of Filipino students to obtain a college degree, while the Go Negosyo Act has assisted Filipinos in starting or enhancing their businesses through Negosyo Centers nationwide.
Pangilinan, for his part, worked for the enactment of the Sagip Saka Act, which mandates local government units and national and local government agencies to buy directly from accredited farmers and fisherfolk cooperatives.
By removing the need for middlemen, farmers, and fishermen can earn higher incomes while making agricultural products more affordable.
