Bulacan initiates SEPO, conducts waterway clean-up activity at Meycauayan City

CITY OF MALOLOS – As part of the commemoration of Earth Day, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) and other personnel from the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) conducted a waterway clean-up activity at Brgy. Ubihan, City of Meycauayan, Bulacan recently.

The BENRO also coordinated with other agencies including BPPO, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), army and all the municipal and city environment and natural resources offices in the province regarding the provincewide conduct of Simultaneous Environmental Protection Operations (SEPO) which is an initiative of BENRO Head Atty. Julius Victor C. Degala.

In his message, Governor Daniel R. Fernando reminded BENRO to prioritize and protect the environment, thus, the SEPO will be conducted in the province regularly to achieve Resilient Nature and Clean Environment, which is one of the People’s 10 Point Agenda.

“The environment cannot protect itself. The people led by the government, should undertake positive actions to protect the environment,” the governor said.

Moreover, the SEPO program includes environment preservation activities including waterway clean-up drives, tree planting and growing, mineral hauling checking, quarry site inspection, establishment visitation and other related activities. (UnliNews Online)
