‘The dream of Bulacan becoming a first-world province and new economic powerhouse is about to be achieved’ — Fernando

CITY OF MALOLOS — “The dream of Bulacan becoming a first-world province and being recognized as a new economic powerhouse is about to be achieved.

This was how Governor Daniel R. Fernando related his vision for the province of Bulacan to how Filipino ancestors used to envision the country in his message during the commemoration of the 126th Anniversary of the Philippine Republic on Thursday (Jan. 23) at the Barasoain Church here.

Solicitor General of the Philippines and former Secretary of Justice Menardo I. Guevarra and Governor Daniel R. Fernando lead the wreath laying activity at the monument of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo during the 126th Anniversary of the First Philippine Republic held at the grounds of Barasoain Church, City of Malolos, Bulacan. (Photo courtesy of Shane F. Velasco)

With the ongoing construction of various infrastructures such as the MRT-7, North-South Commuter Railway Project, New Manila International Airport, and Northwin Global City, Fernando emphasized that there is still hope for the province to develop and advance more.

Fernando also called on the Bulakenyos to not waste the sacrifices that the Filipino heroes offered in order to achieve the independence of the country, saying that their principles should be valued and put into practice in this new generation.

Meanwhile, the event’s guest of honor Solicitor General of the Philippines and former Secretary of Justice Menardo I. Guevarra said that there is a need for a new revolution as the country faces challenges in terms of freedom, development, and social change.

Furthermore, Guevarra reminded the Filipino people of the power they hold to improve their lives, underscoring the importance of electing the right officials who have genuine care and compassion for the Philippines.

Also present at the commemoration were Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro, Congressman Danilo A. Domingo, City of Malolos Mayor Christian D. Natividad and Vice Mayor Miguel Alberto T. Bautista, National Historical Commission of the Philippines Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, Philippine National Police – Region III Deputy Regional Director PCOL Jeffrey Z. Decena, and Rev. Father Domingo M. Salonga. (UnliNews Online)
