CITY OF MALOLOS — In a collaborative effort between the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 3 and the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB), led by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, livelihood support was once again provided to 46 fisherfolk from Bulacan during the Distribution of Livelihood Assistance to Fisherfolks took place at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on Monday (Feb. 3).
Fifteen fisherfolk beneficiaries from the municipalities of Bulakan, Hagonoy, Plaridel, and the City of Malolos received marine engines funded by the PGB, while 31 beneficiaries from the municipalities of Calumpit, Hagonoy, Plaridel, Obando, Paombong, and the City of Malolos received motorized bancas funded by BFAR.
Fernando emphasized that the additional support will empower the fisherfolk to enhance their livelihoods.
Furthermore, the assistance provided will promote sustainable fishing practices and contribute to the long-term progress of the fishing industry.
“Hindi lamang ayuda ang pag-aabot natin ng tulong sa ating mga mangingisda dito sa Bulacan, tanda rin ito ng pagbibigay ng panibagong pag-asa para sa mas maunlad nilang kinabukasan at upang mapanatili nila ang kanilang kabuhayan,” the governor said. (UnliNews Online)
