CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — In a decisive move to address noise pollution and enforce traffic regulations, NEPPO conducted the simultaneous dismantling of 1,927 unauthorized exhaust pipes (mufflers) on Thursday morning (Feb. 6).
The activity was led by Col. Ferdinand D. Germino, Provincial Director, at the NEPPO Parade Ground, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
With the use of a roller truck, the confiscated mufflers were destroyed beyond reuse, ensuring that they would no longer contribute to noise pollution or public disturbance. This initiative is part of NEPPO’s ongoing campaign to promote road safety, environmental protection, and public order, in compliance with Republic Act No. 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) and relevant local ordinances.
“The activity underscores NEPPO’s commitment to maintaining peace and order, fostering safer communities, and responding to public concerns regarding road nuisances,” Germino said.
He emphasized that this initiative sends a strong message to violators and reiterates the PNP’s dedication to enforcing traffic laws and safeguarding public welfare.
The activity concluded successfully, with NEPPO earning praise from the community and stakeholders for its proactive efforts in addressing this perennial issue. NEPPO remains steadfast in its mission to ensure a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for the people of Nueva Ecija. (UnliNews Online)
