CIDG nabs 137 suspects in 1-day anti-criminality ops

MANILA — The Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has arrested 137 persons in the intensified one-day anti-criminality operations across the country on Tuesday (April 25).

The group’s stepped-up and enhanced effort against criminality yielded 128 operations that resulted in 137 arrests, confiscation of 18 firearms of different calibers, 2 explosives and more than P1.9 million valued evidence seized.

Among these figures is the 98 rigorous manhunt operations against wanted individuals or OPLAN Pagtugis which led to the arrest of 33 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs), 13 of whom were classified as Regional, 10 as Provincial, and 10 as Municipal/City level. Also, the arrest of 65 Other Wanted Persons (OWPs).

Meanwhile, 14 suspects were apprehended during the 19 police operations against Loose Firearms that resulted in the seizure of 18 guns of different calibers and two explosives.

Likewise, a notable feat against the Smuggling and Manufacturing, Distribution and Trading of Counterfeit Items led to the arrest of 7 economic saboteurs during 4 operations were also which resulted in the seizure of P1,905,140 million worth of evidence.

In Other Law Enforcement Activities (OLEA), there were seven police operations, 18 arrested persons, and the confiscation of evidence worth Php32,505.00.

“Heeding to the call of the new PNP Top Cop, the CIDG will continue to boost the conduct of comprehensive police operations throughout the nation through its flagship programs to suppress illegal activities and arrest those wanted by our law,” CIDG Director Brig.
