2 cops killed in Bocaue’s anti-drug operation

BOCAUE, Bulacan — An anti-narcotics operatives were killed during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tugatog, NIA Road, Barangay Tambubong, Saturday noon (March 8).

According to Major Jaynalyn A. Udal, Bulacan police information officer, the fatalities were identified as Police Staff Sergeant Dennis Cudiamat and Police Staff Sergeant Gian George Dela Cruz, both assigned at Bocaue Municipal Police and resident of Brgy. Poblacion.

The victims were conducting a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tugatog when an unidentified male suspect, armed with a gun, fired at Dela Cruz, hitting him in the body. Cudiamat pursued the suspect, he was shot in the head, causing his instantaneous death.

The suspect then took Cudiamat’s service firearm before escaping towards Pandi, Bulacan.

Dela Cruz was rushed to Dr. Yanga Hospital but was later pronounced dead at about 3:20 p.m.

“PNP Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) technical assistance was requested to process the crime scene, while CCTV footage review and follow-up operations are ongoing,” Udal said. (UnliNews Online)
