CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — In a major breakthrough in international law enforcement cooperation, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), in coordination with the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), has successfully apprehended Alan Dennis Lim Sytin—one of Central Luzon’s most wanted fugitives—in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.
Sytin, who carried a P10 million bounty on his head, was the alleged mastermind behind the 2018 murder of his brother, Dominic Sytin, the President and Founder of United Auctioneers Inc. (UAI). He was arrested in a joint operation by the Office of the Police Attaché (OPA) in Malaysia, the Special Branch of the RMP, and IPD Petaling Jaya RMP on March 22, 2025, at 5:42 PM at the Cobra Rugby Club.
The murder, which took place on November 28, 2018, in front of a hotel in Subic Bay Freeport, was a high-profile case that shook the business community.
Gunman Edgardo Luib, who was arrested and convicted, confessed that Alan Dennis Lim Sytin orchestrated the killing. His accomplice, Edrian T. Rementilla (alias Ryan Rementilla/Oliver Fuentes), who acted as the middleman, was separately arrested in Iligan City on March 22, 2025, in a joint operation by PRO3 and PRO10.
Under the leadership of PBGEN Jean S. Fajardo, PRO3 sought the assistance of the Office of the Police Attaché in Malaysia, which coordinated closely with the Royal Malaysia Police. Following intensive intelligence and surveillance operations, authorities successfully tracked and captured Sytin.
Efforts are now underway to facilitate Sytin’s immediate repatriation to the Philippines, where he will face legal proceedings.
“This operation highlights the power of international cooperation in bringing fugitives to justice. It sends a strong message that no one can escape accountability, no matter where they flee,” said Fajardo.
The Police Regional Office 3 urges the public to remain vigilant and report any information on wanted persons through its hotline or official social media pages. Further updates on Sytin’s repatriation and legal proceedings will be provided in due course. (UnliNews Online)
