Gen. De Leon takes ‘sentimental journey’ to PRO3

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — PNP Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management P/Major Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon, visited Police Regional Office 3 on Thursday (May 4) as part of his sentimental journey to previous assignments in his entire career before he officially bids farewell to the PNP organization.

From October 7, 2020, to November 1, 2021, then De Leon was appointed top cop of Central Luzon wherein one of his priorities apart from the maintenance of peace and order in the region was to find ways to permanently resolve the band-aid solution for the perennial problem of floodings inside Camp Olivas thru the improvement of drainage canal and road network. Aside from this, several camp infrastructures were also constructed made possible with the support of Representative Hon. Jorge Bustos thru the funding of PATROL Partylist.

During his speech, De Leon recounted his memories of his assignment at PRO3 where he served as Regional Director for more than a year. He also thanked the men and women of PRO3 for their excellent job as he motivates all PNP personnel to be an inspiration to others.

The general also expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, advocacy groups, and the local chief executives for their continuous support to the PNP.

He is set to retire on May 7, 2023.

Meanwhile, PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said that the regional office is fortunate and honored to be visited by Major Gen. De Leon and further stated that the event is a bittersweet occasion as the PNP will lose another exemplary officer with De Leon’s compulsory retirement but is glad that he has reached the peak of his career and will get the chance to enjoy all the hard-earned benefits with his family and loved ones.
