BALIWAG CITY, Bulacan — Two claimants were apprehended after claiming an imported shabu worth Php 1,055,010.00 following a controlled delivery operation in Crystal Subd., Barangay Concepcion on Monday afternoon (May 15).
Authorities identified the arrested claimant as Vincent Francis R. Estrella, 32 years old, resident of Aluna St.Villa Crystal Subdivision, Brgy. Concepcion, Baliuag, Bulacan; and Gilbert Gonzalez Guinit , 35 years old, resident of Don Ambrosio Village, Sabang, Baliuag, Bulacan.
Approximately 152.9 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu amounting to P1,055,010.00 were seized from Estrella and Guinit.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the shipment containing illegal drugs arrived at the Port of Clark last May 10, 2023.
“The subject parcel emanated from New York, USA, and was declared as chocolates”, said the PDEA team leader.
The operation conducted jointly by operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, Clark Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark.
A charge for violation of section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 is being readied for filing against the arrested claimants. (UnliNews Online)
