CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Two former police officers facing criminal charges for Planting of Evidence and Robbery with Violence Against or Intimidation of Persons submitted themselves to authorities on Wednesday (May 24).
PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., on Thursday identified the dismissed cops as Marlon Lazaga, resident of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija, and Percival Ladores resident of Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. The duo voluntarily surrendered at Gapan City Police Station, Brgy. Bayanihan, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.
Lazaga and Ladores were involved in an anti-drug operation sometime in 2017 in Gapan City and were found to be guilty of planting evidence as well as robbery with violence against or intimidation of persons.
They were administratively charged with grave misconduct and were dismissed from the PNP service in 2022.
“Our internal cleansing program is very much in effect. We shall continue cleansing our ranks directed towards the goal of helping our government rebuild a safer, better nation for us all. Also, I advise those who are at large to surrender and face the accusation against them. Otherwise, we will make sure that arrests will be made to the full extent of the law in the coming days,” Hidalgo said. (UnliNews Online)
