Obando launches ‘One Town One Product (OTOP)’

CITY OF MALOLOS — Municipality of Obando, thru the leadership of Mayor Leonardo DC “Ding” Valeda, with the support of municipal councilors and guests from national and local government agencies, launched recently the One Town One Product (OTOP) of Obando: Bagoong Alamang, during the town’s fiesta.

The launching is a culminating activity and a marketing activity for the Bagoong Alamang of Obando.

Capitalizing on the huge crowd during fiesta, selling food products will be an opportunity to earn and to gain feedback on the product for further improvement.

In preparation for the launching of OTOP Obando, the Local Government Unit of Obando, partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), facilitated the conduct of capacity-building seminars such as packaging and labeling, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and product development consultancies.

These activities were made thru coordination with Bulacan Packaging and Toll Packing Center and the Department of Science and Technology Bulacan. All activities were conducted geared toward the development of the food processing industry in Obando specifically the “bagoong industry”. (UnliNews Online)
