5 killed including 3 Korean nationals in Bulacan road crash

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Five were killed including three Korean nationals while two others were seriously injured when their Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided head-on with a truck along Dona Remedios Trinidad Highway, Barangay Sabang, Baliwag City on Wednesday morning.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan provincial director identified the fatalities as Miseon Kim, Park Misoon, and Jinoh Kim, both Korean nationals; Rosalinda Capinlac, resident of Brgy. San Vicente, Llanera Nueva Ecija, and Allen Arucan Bulandos, a resident of Brgy. Poblacion, Talavera, Nueva Ecija while the two seriously injured were Geraldine Capinlac, of legal age a resident of Llanera Nueva Ecija, and Theresa Adio.

Initial investigation according to Arnedo showed at about 2 a.m. Sino Tractor Head truck with plate number NEG 7896 driven by PJ Salaysay Calma was in the south part of the road plying the highway when it collided with a Toyota Fortuner with plate number ABA 9888 traveling from the north.

Arnedo added upon reaching the place of the incident the Toyota Fortuner suddenly occupied the opposite lane which at the time the said truck traversing at speed then accidentally hit the front portion of the Fortuner then eventually collided head-on.

As a result, the driver and passengers of the Toyota Fortuner sustained multiple injuries in the different parts of their bodies and were brought to Baliwag District Hospital but 5 of them were declared dead on arrival (DOA) at about 4:40 a.m. by the attending physician.

The two other passengers Capinlac and Adio were brought to Bulacan Medical Center, Malolos City for immediate medical attention. The driver was unhurt.

“An ocular inspection conducted revealed that both vehicles incurred an unestimated amount of damages while the driver of the truck Calma, 34 years old, a resident of Brgy. Mangga, Candaba, Pampanga is now under the custody of Baliwag City PS for proper disposition and documentation while the vehicles involved were impounded,” Arnedo said in his statement.

He added reckless Imprudence Resulting in Serious Physical Injury, Multiple Homicides, and Damage to Property is now being prepared for filing before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, in the City of Malolos, Bulacan. (UnliNews Online)
