CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — As part of its continuing efforts to address natural disasters and calamities, more or less 300 PNP personnel and other employees of Police Regional Office 3 joins in the conduct of the 2nd Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on Thursday afternoon (June 8)
PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said that the earthquake drill/simulation is a quarterly exercise designed for the awareness, preparedness, and readiness of PRO3 personnel inside the camp during an actual earthquake.
The important part of the drill is to understand that when there is an earthquake it is safest to drop to the ground, find cover and hold on.
The activity started with a one-minute blowing of a siren, wherein all PNP personnel and other employees inside their respective offices drop on the floor, find cover under their tables and hold on to it.
Afterward, all participants went outside, with both hands covering their heads since they could be battered by falling objects, walked in a single file, and proceeded to the designated evacuation area which is the Parade Ground located in front of the Admin Building.
This must be done so as not to cause panic while an earthquake takes place. (UnliNews Online)
