20 LMB members withdraw support from CPP-NPA, 2 former rebels surrender

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Twenty members of a farm group pledged their allegiance back to the government side, while two former rebels returned to the folds of law in Nueva Ecija and Pampanga.

The intensified intelligence-driven operations of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 led by Acting Force Commander P/Lt. Col. Jay. C. Dimaandal resulted in the withdrawal of support of twenty members of Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) from the communist group at the 303rd MC Headquarters, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija on Tuesday (June 6).

Meanwhile, “Ka Rambo”, a former member of Kilusang Larangan Guerilla (KLG West) voluntarily surrendered to elements of 1st Pampanga PMFC together with other concerned units at Brgy. Hacienda Dolores, Porac, Pampanga.

“Ka Rambo” also turned in from his possession one Cal. 45 pistol, seven pieces of live ammo, and one piece M49A2 60mm Mortar (High Explosive).

Also, joint elements of 1st PMFC Nueva Ecija PPO with other police units facilitated the voluntary surrender of “Lusing,” a former member of Milisyang Bayan at Burgos Ave., Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija wherein one Cal. 38 Revolver and two pieces live ammunition was turned-in on Monday (June 5).

PRO 3 Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. lauded the troops for a job well done and said that these acts of surrender and withdrawal of support are testaments of the PNP’s efforts to provide avenues for active and former rebels to return to the folds of the law and for their supporters to come back to the government side in a peaceful manner.
