1,465 beneficiaries in Meycauayan receive AICS aid via Sen. Bong Go

CITY OF MEYCAUAYAN, Bulacan — Senator Christopher Lawrence T. “Bong” Go led the distribution of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) here in this city on Friday (June 9).

The senator distributed P3,000 each to 1,465 beneficiaries mostly poor women, solo parents, poor senior citizens without pension, People with Disability (PWD), LGBTQ, and PUJ/UV drivers.

The Bulakenyo beneficiaries in the City of Meycauayan are part of the sector being assisted under DSWD AICS which is included in the agency’s protective services for individuals belonging to the poor, marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged sectors.

The senator said in his speech he did not come to the city just to bring public service but also to make the people smile.

“Huwag po kayong magpasalamat sa akin, trabaho ko ang magserbisyo sa inyo,” he said.

Also, City of Meycauayan Mayor Henry Villarica thanked Senator Go for the opportunity to give my kababayan Meycauaenyos in helping their financial problem.

“Isang pasasalamat ang ipinararating ko kay Senator Go dahil sa kanyang walang sawang pagtulong sa mga aking mga kababayang mahihirap” the mayor said in his speech.

Go and his team also gave away cellular phones, shoes, bicycles, basketball, volleyball, and watches to select individuals.

Aside from Villarica, also present during the distribution were Vice Mayor Josefina Violago and some members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Meycauayan.

Meanwhile, prior to the distribution of DSWD-AICS, Sen. Bong Go together with officials of this city led by Mayor Henry Villarica inaugurated the first of the 15 super health centers in Bulacan.

The new and first Super Health Center found in Barangay Camalig, City of Meycauayan.

Go said during the interview, Super Health Center is a medium type of polyclinic but bigger than a rural health center.

He added “As (Senate) Health Committee Chairman,I want to increase the number of Malasakit Centers and have Super Health Centers in our country.

“The super health center will serve as an extension of the municipal health center offering services such as consultation, dental, laboratory, x-ray, EENT, vaccination, and even as birthing center,” he said.

Other super health centers in Bulacan are being constructed in the towns of Guiguinto, Balagtas, Bulakan, Pandi, San Miguel, Angat, Marilao, Obando, Paombong, Plaridel, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, and the Cities of Baliwag and San Jose del Monte City.

After here in Meycauayan, the senator and his team proceeded to the town of Guiguinto to distribute educational aid to 1,000 students. (UnliNews Online)
