MANILA — The Internal Affairs Service (IAS) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) commemorated its 24th Founding Anniversary on Tuesday (June 20) at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center (MPC), Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City.
Under the theme “IAS @24: Maaasahang Katuwang ng Pulisya at Pamayanan Para Sa Pagkakaisa, Integridad, at Katarungan,” the event aimed to highlight the IAS’s commitment as a reliable partner of the community in promoting unity, integrity, and justice.
The Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHS) for the occasion was the Honorable Mario G. Lipana, Commissioner of the Commission on Audit, who graced the event with his presence. His insightful remarks emphasized the significance of the IAS’s role in upholding accountability within the police force.
“Even as you celebrate these triumphs, it is hoped that you shall constantly endeavor excellence in performing your sworn duty with the highest degree of integrity and sense of responsibility. We must improve moral standards in government in order to provide a strong foundation for good governance. Let us always bear in mind to protect the trust reposed in us by the Filipino people,” Hon. Mario G. Lipana said.
Commissioner Lipana also congratulated IAS for the outstanding implementation of the Zero Backlog Program. As of December 2022, IAS has successfully fulfilled its Zero Backlog Policy with 100% administrative case resolution efficiency, having surpassed its previous resolution efficiency of 99.65% in 2021.
Furthermore, during the ceremony, outstanding IAS personnel were recognized and awarded for their exemplary performance and dedication. These individuals have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the IAS’s mission of conducting independent and impartial investigations in relation to the police force since its establishment in 1998.
After the activity, the IAS Command Conference for the year 2023 took place at the Conference Room of the IAS building. Distinguished attendees included Inspector General Atty. Alfegar M Triambulo, Deputy Inspector General PBGen Joker T Cuanso, as well as NIAS Division Chiefs and Key Officers. The conference served as a platform for strategic discussions and planning, enabling the IAS to enhance its capabilities and effectiveness in combating misconduct within the PNP.
The PNP IAS remains at the forefront of the nation’s campaign against all forms of misconduct within the PNP. As a recommendatory body, it upholds the principles of fairness and integrity while ensuring transparency in its investigations.
