According to reports, at approximately 1:56 on Sunday, the BCPO’s Station Drug Enforcement Team (PS8 SDET) conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok Villa Lourdes, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City leading to the arrest of Rene Lapera Jr., also known as “Ombap”.

Mr. Lapera is married, unemployed, and a resident of Villa Lourdes, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City.

The following pieces of evidence were recovered from the scene — one big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (buy-bust item), 10 big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (possession), seven knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (possession), one digital weighing scale, one color blue sling bag, three genuine one thousand peso bills (buy-bust money).

“I extend my gratitude to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) personnel and to all the officers involved in this operation for their unwavering commitment and dedication to duty, as well as to Brig. Gen. Sidney N. Villaflor, ARD, PRO6, for his commitment to implement one of our focused agenda, which is aggressive and honest law enforcement. I also want to thank the community for their continued support and cooperation,” PNP Chief Police General Benjamin C. Acorda said.

He also urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information related to illegal drug operations.

“We will continue to prioritize the fight against illegal drugs and intensify our operations to dismantle drug syndicates. This success serves as a clear message to those involved in illegal drug activities that we will not tolerate their actions and will relentlessly pursue them”, Acorda added.

Meanwhile, a tactical interrogation of the suspect is currently underway to gather additional information regarding the source of the illegal drugs, as well as any potential links and accomplices. This will aid in planning further follow-up operations to dismantle the drug syndicate responsible for endangering the safety and well-being of our community.
