PRESIDENTIAL Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) Executive Director Paul M. Gutierrez, shares his thoughts and the PTFoMS’ future direction under the Marcos administration with the officers and members of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) headed by Chairman Herman Basbano and President Jun Nicdao, during the KBP’s General Membership Meeting held in Makati City on Tuesday (June 20).
The KBP is one of the oldest media organizations in the Philippines and among the strongest supporter and media partners of the PTFoMS since its founding in 2016 under Administrative Order No. 1.
During the exchange of ideas, the KBP and the PTFoMS agreed to work together to create a mechanism down to the local level whereby grievances against members of the press by local officials can be discussed and settled as both agree that prevention of attacks against the media is the ‘best’ approach, moving forward.
The KBP also expresses its support in clarifying before the international community the real media environment in the country and the efforts being taken by the government and the PTFoMS in addressing media concerns. (UnliNews Online)
