CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Nearly 500 individuals were arrested, including 28 of the most wanted in the region, and various firearms, deadly weapons, as well as illegal drugs, were confiscated in the 4-day unyielding police operations in prime cities and municipalities across Central Luzon, Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., Region 3 Police Director said.
Hidalgo said that these strings of operations are in adherence to the marching order of Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., Chief, PNP to intensify, reinvigorate and focus on the anti-criminality drive and anti-insurgency efforts of the PNP as part of his 5-focused agenda.
Hidalgo also added that he ordered all provincial directors and chiefs of police to conduct intensified Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) as part of the crime mitigation efforts of the PNP to deprive criminals of the opportunity to commit crimes.
He also issued a warning to all criminals that the full arm of the law will be used against them should they still prefer to continue disrupting peace and order in the region.
The regional director stated that PNP units in Region 3 have continuously carried out actual and proactive crime prevention drives by accounting for all wanted persons, clearing the streets of drug personalities, and taking weapons and other instruments of violence from the hands of criminals before they can use them.
The top cop of Central Luzon bared that from July 19 to 22, authorities arrested a total of 488 individuals, 28 of them are tagged as Most Wanted, 146 have standing warrants of arrest for various crimes, 184 were arrested for illegal drugs, 127 were apprehended for illegal gambling and 3 were listed as members of criminal gangs.
Hildalgo added that Central Luzon cops have confiscated a total of 724.97 grams of shabu and 54.40 grams of dried marijuana leaves with Standard Drug Prices of P4,636,205.20 and P51,389.00 cash bets along with 32 assorted loose firearms which were confiscated, surrendered, and captured while 94 firearms were turned-in for safekeeping.
The Central Luzon police director further stated that these accomplishments particularly in the arrest of most wanted fugitives, people involved in illegal drugs and street crimes were the results of the strong support of all local chief executives in the anti-criminality programs of the PNP-PRO3.
