Cops seize P912K worth of shabu in Angeles, Pulilan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — With PRO3’s relentless fight against illegal drugs, authorities successfully seized a substantial quantity of illegal drugs and apprehended three suspects involved in the illicit drug trade during separate operations in Angeles City and Pulilan, Bulacan.

PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said that Angeles City police operatives conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Pulung Maragul at around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday (July 25), which resulted in the arrest of Harrey Urquiola y Abella (High-Value Individual), 44 years old, and his accomplice Remrick Magno y Laxamana, 21 years old, both residents of Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

Authorities confiscated 20 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing alleged shabu weighing approximately 100 grams and worth P680,000.00 along with one sling bag, one violet MIO Sporty scooter, boodle money and P1,000 bill marked money.

Hidalgo also said that around 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday (July 26), operatives in Bulacan were able to arrest Algin Cruz y Cruz, 44 years old, resident of Bocaue, Bulacan and seized from his possession were seven pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 34.16 grams with standard drug price amounting to P232,288.00 and one Mio Gear scooter during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Longos, Pulilan, Bulacan.

Arrested suspects are now facing charges for violation of Sec 5 and 11 of RA 9165.

“These arrests demonstrate the unwavering commitment and hard work of our personnel to eradicate illegal drug activity from our streets and neighborhoods. Our efforts will continue through ongoing investigations, vigilant patrolling, and collaboration with partner agencies to maintain a safe and drug-free community for all law-abiding citizens,” Gen. Hidalgo further stated.

“We emphasize that community involvement remains a crucial component in the fight against lawlessness and drug-related crimes. Through our Interactive Engagement Policing, the indispensable support and assistance from members of the community who provide invaluable tips and information is of great help in the investigation and successful execution of police operations,” the Central Luzon police director added.
