CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — In a significant breakthrough, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) successfully apprehended two suspects involved in the illegal drug trade during an undercover operation in Mabalacat City recently.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mike Yumul y Tiamzon (HVI and Member of Sputnik Gang), a 43-year-old male, and Joanna Marie Lacanilao y Evangelista, a 35-year-old female, both residents of Mabalacat City.
Acting on intelligence provided by the PDEU Pampanga PPO, the anti-illegal drugs buy-bust operation took place at approximately 5:40 a.m. in Brgy. Dau, Mabalacat City. The operation resulted in the confiscation of approximately 60 grams of alleged shabu, with an estimated street value of P408,000.00.
Additionally, law enforcement recovered a cache of other incriminating evidence, including marked money, a weighing scale, a mobile phone, a sling bag, a purse, a vehicle, and P3,000.00 in cash.
The suspects, along with the seized evidence, will undergo a thorough examination, and charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are currently being prepared against the alleged peddlers.
In response to this successful operation, PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. stated, “Illegal drugs continue to plague our communities, destroying lives and futures.
