CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Authorities apprehended a Chinese national in Angeles City on Monday (Sept. 25), for his involvement in a robbery and extortion attempt against another Chinese individual.
According to the investigation, the incident unfolded around 6:30 p.m. when the victim, also a Chinese national, reported the loss of his cellular phone and his subsequent contact with the suspect.
The suspect had allegedly demanded a sum of P100,000 in exchange for the return of the stolen cellphone, making this a case of extortion.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, law enforcement swiftly mobilized an entrapment operation, which culminated in the successful arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the victim’s stolen cellphone.
PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. commended the officers and personnel involved in the operation for their dedication and efficiency in resolving the case.
He further emphasized that the Central Luzon police force remains unwavering in its commitment to uphold the law, regardless of the time, place, or individuals involved.
“The apprehended suspect is now in police custody and will face the appropriate legal actions in accordance with Philippine laws,” Hidalgo said. (UnliNews Online)
