Sputnik gang member yields P750K worth of shabu in Angeles City

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The operatives of Police Station 6, Angeles City Police Office, successfully arrested a known member of the Sputnik Gang and recovered almost P750,000 worth of shabu during an anti-illegal drug operation in Interior St., Brgy. Ninoy Aquino, Angeles City, Sunday morning (Oct. 1).

In his report to the PRO3 Regional Director, Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., Angeles City Police Director Col. Amado Mendoza Jr. said that the significant arrest was the culmination of a meticulously executed anti-illegal drugs (buy-bust) operation carried out by the dedicated officers of Police Station 6, ACPO.

According to Mendoza, during the operation against the suspect notorious drug peddler Amurao, Angeles City police operatives seized a substantial quantity of approximately 110 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of almost P750,000.00.

Amurao, a high-value individual (HVI) listed in the drug watchlist, now faces charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, commonly known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Following the successful operation, the arrested suspect, along with the seized evidence, is temporarily at Police Station 6, ACPO, for proper disposition.

“This significant arrest underscores the unwavering commitment of our police force to eradicate the blight of illegal drugs from our communities and ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law. We remain steadfast in our tireless efforts to combat illegal drug activities and uphold the principles of justice, striving to create a peaceful and drug-free environment for all,” emphasized Gen.
