DPWH, LGU break ground for P80M stadium in Santa Maria, Bulacan

SANTA MARIA, Bulacan — Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, together with Public Works and Highways Region 3 Assistant Director Melquiades Sto. Domingo and Municipal Mayor Bartolome Ramos, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an P80 million stadium in the said town on Monday (Oct. 2).

The Santa Maria Stadium is a two-storey, air-conditioned facility with a capacity of 200 persons. It has a total floor area of 981.6 square meters and features a 420-square-meter court area for sports activities, a movable stage, and 23 parking slots, making it an accessible and conducive venue for sporting events in the locality.

In his message, Sto. Domingo conveyed DPWH’s profound appreciation to Senator Joel Villanueva for his unwavering dedication and consistent support in bringing the stadium’s construction to fruition, highlighting the diligent efforts put forth to secure the necessary budget and resources for the project.

Emphasizing the agency’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the communities it serves, Sto. Domingo added that, “This facility will provide the residents of Santa Maria with ample space for a myriad of events and activities, accommodating gatherings of varying sizes to ensure a comfortable and engaging experience for all attendees.”

Meanwhile, Villanueva, who also hails from Bocaue, reiterated in his message his dedication to contributing to infrastructure programs in Central Luzon that will lead to more projects, businesses, and job opportunities.

“This stadium serves as both a symbol of progress and a vibrant hub for community activities, and as your Senator, I extend my wholehearted support to this project. It carries profound significance as a unifying emblem, rallying Bulakenyos for the collective advancement of our province,” Villanueva expressed.

The groundbreaking event also saw the presence of key figures, including DPWH Region 3 Construction Division Chief Engr. Jayson Jauco, Assistant Division Chief Arvin Sanggalang, Santa Maria Vice Mayor Pablo L. Juan, along with members of the Sangguniang Bayan. (UnliNews Online)
