PRO3 drug enforcement operatives seize over P2M worth of shabu

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Undercover officers from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) apprehended three alleged drug peddlers, confiscating suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,074,000.00 on Tuesday (Oct. 17).

During a late-night buy-bust operation in the Municipality of Iba, Zambales, law enforcement agents successfully apprehended two suspects and seized approximately 250 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P1,700,000, in accordance with standard drug prices.

Simultaneously, in Angeles City, an anti-illegal drug operation led to the arrest of a high-value target, in possession of around 55 grams of alleged shabu, valued at P374,000.00.

The suspects are currently in police custody, undergoing the necessary legal procedures for proper documentation. Criminal charges are being prepared against the accused in accordance with Section 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., Regional Director of PRO3 emphasized the significance of these recent achievements in the nation’s ongoing battle against illegal drugs. These efforts align with the start of the campaign period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in 2023.

“Central Luzon law enforcement will remain steadfast in our commitment to combat all forms of criminality, with a particular focus on the use and proliferation of illegal drugs. It is an undeniable factor in preserving peace and order within our communities,” Hidalgo said. (UnliNews Online)
