CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS — The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) 2023 in the province of Bulacan unfolded in a generally peaceful and orderly manner, with the vast majority of polling stations witnessing a smooth electoral process.
The people of Bulacan cast their votes peacefully and exercised their democratic right to choose their local leaders.
The overall peace and order of the electoral process in Bulacan were effectively maintained under the leadership of Col. Relly B. Arnedo, the Provincial Director of the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO). Through the efforts of the Bulacan PNP, the election proceeded smoothly, safeguarding the integrity of the democratic process.
“While the election day was marked by an atmosphere of tranquility, there was an isolated incident of vote buying reported in the municipality of Pandi. A barangay kagawad was allegedly involved in this unfortunate incident, which has been promptly addressed by the authorities,” Arnedo said.
In response to the reported vote-buying incident, Arnedo affirmed the commitment to fair and just elections, with a thorough investigation into this matter. The Bulacan PNP will ensure that those responsible for any breaches of electoral integrity are held accountable.
“The Provincial Election Office, in collaboration with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, put in place stringent security measures to uphold the peaceful conduct of the elections. This collaborative effort of various government agencies and local authorities contributed significantly to the success of the electoral process in Bulacan,” Arnedo remarked.
He also added that Bulacan residents and the general public are commended for their responsible and peaceful participation in this vital democratic exercise. The isolated vote-buying incident should not overshadow the collective commitment to fair and honest elections that was demonstrated by the majority of citizens.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teachers who served as poll watchers and the numerous volunteers whose tireless efforts contributed to the success of this election.
The Bulacan PNP, under the leadership of Col. Arnedo, reaffirms its commitment to maintaining peace and order in the province, ensuring the safety and security of its residents. (UnliNews Online)
