CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — With the continuous implementation of enhanced managing police operations and the 5-focused agenda of Chief PNP Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., a decrease of more than 50% in street crimes here in Region 3 has been noted.
PRO3 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said that also through the implementation of Interactive Engagement Policing (IEP) of PRO3, compared to the 175 recorded cases from April 24 to November 9, 2022, only 57 incidents were recorded for the same period this year which 118 or 67.43% lower.
He also said that crimes in the region have been cut down by 1,477 cases or 6.81% this year especially the eight focus crimes namely: Murder, Homicide, Robbery, Theft, Physical Injury, Motorcycle Carnapping, Carnapping, and Rape wherein a reduction of 290 cases or almost 14% lower was recorded.
He also added that the PRO3’s campaign against wanted persons resulted in a remarkable 4,810 arrests of whom 710 are most wanted.
Meanwhile, 2,982 anti-drug operations were launched, leading to the arrest of 4,189 individuals and a significant seizure of illegal drugs with a Standard Drug Price of Php 78,531,584.92.
“As we go hammer and tongs on our campaign against criminality and illegal drugs under the guidance of our Chief PNP Acorda and our enhanced managing police operations along with our IEP, have yielded more than 50% drop in street crimes as well as almost 7% in crime rate compared to the previous year,” Hidalgo furthered.
