CIAC retains ISO certification

CLARK FREEPORT ZONE — The government aviation firm Clark International Airport Corp. hurdled the third-party recertification audit conducted on November 28 by certifying body TÜV Rheinland to retain its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

“The positive audit result determined the effectiveness of CIAC’s management system, an essential tool we need to achieve corporate objectives, including the process of building various infrastructure development projects at the Clark civil aviation complex,” CIAC President Arrey Perez said.

The four-person TÜV Rheinland audit team conducted the day-long audit which assessed the CIAC’s conformity to the ISO 9001:2015 standard and measure the management’s ability to meet applicable statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements.

The audit team declared “no non-conformities”, nine positive findings and 11 Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) for the agency.

“The recertification is a testament of the organization’s continuous efforts to ensure its operations and activities are at par with global quality assurance and business standards,” Perez said.

He added the CIAC will continue to conduct capacity-building for its personnel “to ensure continuous improvement as we strive for excellence in providing quality service.”

ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard dedicated to quality management systems – the combined processes, resources, assets and corporate values that exceed customer expectations and promotes organizational efficiency and continual improvement.

The CIAC is tasked to develop and manage the civil aviation complex in Clark and was first certified ISO 9001:2008 in 2010 for its International Passenger Facilitation Process when it was still operating the Clark International Airport (CRK).

However, following the privatization of the airport, the scope of the ISO certification now covers the CIAC’s estate management business. (UnliNews Online)
