PRO3 operatives arrest 4 individuals selling firecrackers online in Bataan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga –Central Luzon cops apprehended four persons, one male and three females, for selling firecrackers and pyrotechnics online during an entrapment operation conducted by local police in Morong, Bataan on Saturday (Dec. 30).

According to the reports submitted to Police Regional Office 3, the suspects were monitored marketing their products through the social media site Facebook.

Seized from their possession were 590 pcs of Kwitis, 50pcs Mabuhay lusis, 18pcs five Color lusis, 4 pcs Roman candle lusis, 12 pcs Fountain silver, 5pcs Battery eight candle fountain, 13pcs Pagoding fountain, 2pcs three layers big fountain and 3pcs two-layer pagoding fountain and marked money. Said products amount approximately Php30,000.00.

PNP-PRO3 has been continuously reminding the public that online selling of firecrackers and pyrotechnics devices, even those allowed by the government, and without necessary permits is prohibited by the law.

Possible charges for violation of R.A. 7183 (An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distribution, and Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Devices) are being prepared against the suspects.

Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., regional director of PRO3, said that he already directed provincial/city directors and chiefs of police stations to intensify its campaign against all illegal activities particularly related to the upcoming New Year’s celebration.

“I would like to encourage our dear citizens to help us ensure a lively and safe celebration of the new year. We assure everyone that the police are committed to safeguard public safety and maintain public order at all times,” Hidalgo stated. (UnliNews Online)
