CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Two members of Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (RHB), a Communist-Terrorist Group (CTG), voluntarily surrendered to the Bulacan police.
In his statement Tuesday (Jan 30), Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan Provincial Director said the surrendered members of the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (RHB) were identified as alias Ka Bonbon, a 46-year-old male and Ka Mila, a 71-year-old female.
Arnedo added that on Monday at about 11 a.m. at Brgy. Sampaloc, San Rafael, Bulacan, alias Bonbon and alias Ka Mila surrendered to the joint elements of the Bulacan PIU, 2nd PMFC.
Alias Ka Bonbon turned over one Smith and Wesson Cal. 38 revolver without a serial number, four pieces of cal. 38 live ammunition, and a book of Neoliberalism that were then turned over to personnel of the Bulacan 2nd PMFC.
“Bulacan Police is stern in its intensified campaign against insurgency and terrorism to ensure the provision of social services, employment opportunities, and an improved quality of life in communities that have been experiencing or are vulnerable to armed communist conflict,“ Arnedo said.
He added they joined the rebel group to advocate for government reform, equal rights, and social justice. Their surrender now shows their commitment to realign with the government for these goals. (UnliNews Online)
