CITY OF MALOLOS — Joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Bulacan PPO and Baliwag police arrested a 45-year-old barangay tanod over loose firearms during an entrapment operation in Baliwag Wednesday evening (Jan 31).
In his statement, Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. PRO3 regional director said on Thursday morning that operating teams were able to apprehend alias “Vic” while selling a Smith & Wesson Caliber .38 revolver without serial number in exchange for P3,000 around 11:30 p.m in Brgy. Tangos, Baliwag City.
Hidalgo added also seized from the suspect’s possession were two pieces of Caliber .38 ammunition, one improvised shotgun, one improvised Caliber .22 Pistol, four 12-gauge ammunition, one Caliber .22 magazine, one black holster, one ash white shoulder bag, a Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle with plate number 4874 CQ, one genuine one thousand peso bill and two pieces of one thousand peso boodle money.
“Arrested suspect who is active tanod of Brgy. Tangos is now facing charges for violation of Comprehensive Law on Firearms and ammunition (RA 10591),” Hidalgo said.
Hidalgo on his statement lauded the operating teams and stated that this accomplishment signifies the commitment of PRO3 to account and seize all loose firearms while at the same time uphold the provisions of the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition (R.A 10591) and ensure the safety of the community.
