Gov. Fernando pushes for a safer and more peaceful province

CITY OF MALOLOS — Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando emphasized that he is serious when it comes to maintaining a safer and peaceful province as he spearheaded the 1st Quarter Joint Meeting of Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) at The Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here recently.

“Kailangan po nating bantayan mabuti itong mga kaso shabu, marijuana, at cocaine dito sa atin. Wala pa tayong ordinansa sa kasalukuyan, but I’ll give my directives regarding sa mga checkpoint para masuri mabuti kung may nakakalusot na mga iligal na droga,” Fernando said.

He also expressed his gratitude for the ongoing support extended by each member of the council and stressed the importance of unity in order to maintain and achieve the councils’ goals for this year.

“Marami pa po tayong gagawing mga trabaho and I hope na harapin natin ito nang maayos at katuwang natin ang isa’t isa para mapanatili ang kaayusan. Basta sa Bulacan, gawin natin ang kapayapaan, harangin natin ang lahat,” the governor said.

The discussion centered on the possible challenges that Bulacan may encounter as the year unfolds as well as the actions that the councils would have to take to resolve it.

In order to have a clearer view, the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Bulacan, PTF-ELCAC, 70th Infantry Battalion of the Armed Force of the Philippines, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government Bulacan also presented essential steps to sustain the implementation of peace and order programs in the province including the implementation of drug clearing program in barangays, conduct of check points and enactment of local ordinances to enhance traffic law enforcement.

Before concluding the meeting, certificates of recognition were awarded to the Provincial Government of Bulacan for being the recipient of the Seal of Good Local Governance and passing the ideal rating in the 2023 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment and Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC).
