CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Police authorities implemented search warrant which resulted in the arrest of a male individual and recovery of rifles and ammunition at his residence in San Ildefonso recently.
Based on a police report, Major Aileen Rose S. Stanger, PRO3 information chief said In the course of implementing Search Warrant No. 16-M-2024 issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 81, City of Malolos, Bulacan, operating team recovered a variety of weaponry, including an Elisco caliber 5.56 M16 rifle with serial number RP 177561.
Additionally, four magazines for said rifle, loaded with a total of 78 live rounds, were seized, along with ammunition for a caliber 30 carbine rifle with 48 rounds, and 27 rounds for a caliber 45 firearm.
Further, Stanger added the raiding team discovered included an air gun rifle equipped with a silencer and scope, three rifle scopes, two oxygen gas tanks, and a leather magazine pouch.
”The individual taken into custody will be charged accordingly for violating RA 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act,” Stanger said.
In his statement, PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. emphasized the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the proliferation of illegal firearms in the region.
He urged firearm owners to ensure they possess the appropriate licenses for their weapons and encouraged the public to report any individuals suspected of unlawful possession or ownership of firearms and ammunition. (UnliNews Online)
