CITY OF MALOLOS — Marking a significant effort in wildlife conservation in the province, the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) successfully turned over a rescued brown Serpent Eagle to the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office in Guiguinto.
According to Katrina Anne Bernardo-Balingit, Provincial Public Affairs Office chief on Tuesday (Feb. 20), the majestic bird, measuring 1 foot tall, with an impressive wingspan of 4 feet and weighing approximately 2 ½ kilos was turned over Monday.
The said kind of Eagle was found in need of assistance by Rufino E. Lañada from Sta. Rita, Guiguinto last February 9, 2024 and immediately handed it over to the Provincial Engineer’s Office in Tabang, Guiguinto.
Balingit said it was then subsequently relocated to the Official Residence of the Provincial Government of Bulacan where it was cared for over the course of nine days.
She added the Serpent Eagle will immediately turned over on Tuesday to the Manila Wildlife Rescue Center in Quezon City, Manila. (UnliNews Online)
