PBBM, inilunsad ang National Fiber Backbone Phase 1 sa Bulacan at iba’t ibang lalawigan

Para sa mas epektibo at episyenteng pagseserbisyo

LUNGSOD NG MALOLOS – Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ang paglulunsad ng National Fiber Backbone-Phase 1 (NFB-P1) sa pamamagitan ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) sa Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila-Harbor Garden Tent, na matatagpuan sa South Parking CCP Complex on Roxas Blvd., Pasay City na naglalayong palakasin ang internet connectivity service capacity ng mga tanggapan sa pamahalaan na titiyak sa high-speed internet access sa buong bansa.

Sa inisyal na bahagi, mayroong 600 Gbps optical spectrum capacity and NFB na aabot sa may 14 na lalawigan sa Hilaga at Gitnang Luzon. Kabilang sa malawakang network na ito ang dalawang National Government Data Centers at apat na BCDA ecozones na kapag natapos ay makapagbibiay ng koneksyon sa may kabuuang 346 na nasyunal at lokal na tanggapang pampamahalaan na konektado sa GovNet.

Binigyang diin ng Pangulo na ang National Fiber Backbone ay ang una at tanging pag-aari ng pamahalaan sa bansa na mag-aalok ng digital connectivity sa mahigit 3,000 Free Wi-Fi Sites, na magpapagana sa may 750,000 na benepisyaryo sa Rehiyon I, III, at NCR na magkaroon ng direktang access sa internet.

“Even this early, we are assured that the NFB Phase 1 will already make a significant impact on our internet connectivity as well as in the day-to-day activities of ordinary Filipinos,” anang Pangulo.

Bilang isa sa mga benepisyaryo ng proyektong ito, sinabi ni Gob. Daniel R. Fernando na magbubukas ng mga oportunidad ang proyekto para sa mas maunlad na ekonomiya sa pamamagitan ng mas pinalawak na koneksyon at mas pinahusay na serbisyong pampubliko.

“On behalf of the people of our province and indeed the entire nation, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. Through this project, we are we are increasing internet accessibility for citizens, businesses, and government institutions across the country, thereby reducing the digital divide. Magpapadali ito ng paghahatid ng mga serbisyong pampamahalaan gamit ang mga digital platform na abot-kamay ng mga mamamayan,” anang The People’s Governor.

Samantala, dinaluhan ang programa ng kinatawan ni US Ambassador MaryKay L. Carlson, DICT Secretary Ivan John E. Uy, Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin habang sinamahan naman si Fernando nina Bise Gob. Alexis C. Castro, Provincial Information Technology Officer Inh. Rhea Liza R. Valero at Provincial Information Officer Katrina Anne S.
