PRO3 crackdown on illegal drugs yields over P6M in 24-hour ops

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The battle against illegal drugs continues to produce significant outcomes as law enforcement agencies in Central Luzon successfully apprehended high-value individuals and seized a substantial quantity of illicit substances during separate operations conducted in Angeles City, Tarlac, and Zambales on Wednesday night (April 24).

In Angeles City, a coordinated effort led by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit and CIU ACPO along Don Juico Avenue, Malabanias, resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old female identified as @Lexie from Mabalacat City, Pampanga, and @Zhe, a 30-year-old Chinese national residing in Pasay City.

The authorities confiscated an array of illegal drugs from the duo, including 87 grams of suspected Shabu valued at P591,600, 2 kilos of suspected party drugs (Ecstasy) worth P4,000,000, chewable Ecstasy tablets, Ketamine (salt and crystal), and Liquid Marijuana Vape, with a total estimated value of Php 4,997,600. Additionally, a .22 Caliber pistol with live ammunition was seized during the operation.

Simultaneously, in Tarlac, operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit-Tarlac PPO, PDEA Tarlac, and Gerona MPS conducted an anti-illegal drug operation along McArthur Highway in Brgy. Amacalan, Gerona, resulting in the arrest of @Japar, a 48-year-old security guard, and @Abdul, a 47-year-old truck driver, both natives of Marawi City. The operation led to the seizure of 30 grams of suspected Shabu valued at P204,000.

In another successful operation in Brgy. San Roque, Tarlac City, a joint effort by PPDEU-Tarlac PPO, PDEA Tarlac, and Tarlac City PS led to the apprehension of @Tio and @Kadafi, both natives of Marawi City, and the seizure of 30 grams of suspected Shabu with an estimated value of P204,000.

Meanwhile, in Subic, Zambales, authorities from Subic MPS, PDEA Zambales, Zambales PDEU, Zambales PIU, 305th MC, RMFB3, and Zambales 2nd PMFC conducted an anti-illegal drug operation in Brgy. Matain, resulting in the arrest of @Tamil, a 22-year-old male and member of the Abolencia Criminal Group, and @Jessa, a 24-year-old female. The operation yielded 105.8 grams of suspected Shabu valued at P719,440.

Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr., emphasized that these significant drug seizures underscore the success of an intelligence-driven strategy aimed at curbing drug supply. This approach prioritizes non-violent methods of apprehension to ensure the safety of law enforcement personnel during operations, in line with the directives of PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil.

These operations reflect the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies in Central Luzon to combat the illicit drug trade and safeguard communities from its harmful effects. (UnliNews Online)
