Chinese national held by illegal POGO ring rescued in San Rafael, Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — A 32-year-old Chinese national believed have been kidnapped by henchmen of an illegal POGO ring operating in the country was rescued in the town of San Rafael by agents of Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) – National Capital Region Field Unit recently.

CIDG-NCRFU chief Col. Joel Manuel A. Ana, identified the victim as Su Shipeng, a temporary resident of Guagua, Pampanga.

Shipeng was rescued inside the Momarko Warehouse located at Kalsadang Bago in San Rafael, Bulacan.

Shipeng was said to have been recruited by the syndicate before being held against his will for weeks when he discovered he has been duped.

Criminal charges for kidnapping and serious illegal detention are being readied against the maintainers of the raided compound.

According to Col. Ana, the compound houses different companies hiring foreign staff, IT experts, maintenance and office managers who are being stripped of their passports to prevent them from leaving.

It turned out that the Chinese national used to be a team leader of another offshore gaming office located in Tarlac and Cavite provinces before he was transferred to San Rafael municipality.

The chief of the CIDG-NCRFU intelligence section, Maj. Jet Sayno, led a surveillance team, which validated the woman’s information and immediately conducted a rescue operation.
