Fernando accentuates commitment to traffic and safety

CITY OF MALOLOS — Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando emphasized his commitment to reducing traffic through road clearing operations and ensuring a safer, more peaceful province as he spearheaded the 2nd Quarter Joint Meeting of Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) on Tuesday (May 14) at The Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here.

Fernando in his statement on Wednesday said, Magkaroon tayo ng public hearing regarding road clearing operations, meetings with the mayors, APCs, mga kapitan, kung paano natin mareresolbahan, kung paano natin mai-implement ang mga road clearing operations na ito. Malaking bagay po ‘yan na makawala ng traffic, lalo sa Bulacan

He also expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from each council member and stressed the importance of unity to achieve the councils’ goals for the year.

During the joint meeting, PDEA Provincial Officer IA V John Jermir Almerino provided updates on anti-illegal drug efforts including drug affectation, operational accomplishments from April to May 2024, inter-agency collaborative efforts, and future plans.

PCOL Relly Arnedo, Provincial Director of the Bulacan Philippine National Police, discussed issues related to criminality, the peace and order situation, as well as operational, administrative, and significant accomplishments.

The 70th Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines covered topics related to insurgency including their area of operations, threat situation, and the disposition and location of troops.

Also, DILG Bulacan addressed several topics including LGU audit results (POC and ADAC), barangay road clearing operations, the conduct of the regional BIDA dialogue, and the proposed BDCP leveling session.

Additionally, the meeting included the reading and consideration of the minutes of the meeting from the first quarter meeting led by Dir. Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, CESO V, DILG Bulacan Provincial Director.

Other matters discussed included the draft parameters for recognizing top-performing city and municipal POCs. (UnliNews Online)
