DENR awards 151 land titles to Tarlac residents

TARLAC CITY — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) awarded a total of 151 land titles to qualified beneficiaries in Tarlac under its Handog Titulo program.

It distributed 146 residential free patents covering a land area of about 13,645 square meters as well as five agricultural free patents in Barangay Cristo Rey in the municipality of Capas during the 151st Provincial Founding Anniversary program.

In her message, Governor Susan Yap reminded the beneficiaries to take good care of their properties and use them towards improving their lives.

“The provincial government of Tarlac, together with the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, strives to deliver all kinds of services to all Tarlaqueños. You have waited for this day to come so cherish it and enrich your land,” Yap said.

Yap also expressed her gratitude to DENR and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines for working hand-in-hand to fast track the process of providing land titles.

For his part, DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo advised the beneficiaries to put their land to good use despite the removal of restrictions imposed on the registration, acquisition, encumbrance, alienation, transfer, and conveyance of land covered by free patents.

“Now that you have received a testament of your ownership in your properties, may you be fully dedicated to developing them and aspire to hand them over to the next generation,” Pablo said.

Meanwhile, the provincial government also distributed financial assistance to four centenarians amounting to P100,000 each during the 151st Provincial Founding Anniversary program.

This is in accordance with Republic Act No. 10868, otherwise known as the Centenarians Act of 2016.

A total of 11 senior citizens aged 100 and above who recently celebrated their birthdays likewise received P25,000 each.

Ancillary activities to the anniversary include medical mission, bloodletting, feeding program, mobile passporting services, trade fair, and legal assistance.
