PBBM signs law creating DPWH districts engineering offices in Bulacan, Bukidnon, Negros Occidental, Bataan, Iloilo

PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed legislations creating district engineering offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Bukidnon, Negros Occidental, Bataan, Bulacan and Ilolilo.

President signed Republic Act No. 11998 on June 7, 2024, creating the Bukidnon Fourth District Engineering Office to be located in the City of Valencia.

The engineering office shall serve the City of Valencia and Municipalities of Pangantucan and Kalilangan, all located in the Fourth Legislative District of Bukidnon.

The law was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on May 9, 2023 and March 13, 2024, respectively.

Also signed by the President last June 13 was Republic Act No. 12002, creating the Negros Occidental Fifth District Engineering Office located in the City of San Carlos. It will serve the cities of Escalante and San Carlos, and the municipalities of Toboso, Calatrava and Salvador Benedicto.

Republic Act Nos. 12003 and 12004 were also signed last June 13, creating the Bataan Third District Engineering Office and the Bulacan Third District Engineering Office, respectively.

The Bataan engineering office, to be located in Bagac, Bataan, will serve the Municipalities of Bagac, Dinalupihan, Mariveles, and Morong in the provinces’ third district.

The Bulacan office, on the other hand, will be located in the Municipality of San Rafael and will serve the Municipalities of San Rafael, Dona Remedios Trinidad, San Miguel and San Ildefonso.

President Marcos also signed Republic Act No. 12005, establishing the Iloilo Sixth District Engineering Office, which will be located in the Municipality of Pototan.

It will serve the Municipalities of Badiangan, Cabatuan, Calinog, Janiuay, Lambunao, Maasin, Mina, and Pototan, all located in Iloilo’s third legislative district.

The DPWH district engineering offices will receive funding from the national government’s annual budget.
