CTG member surrendered to Bulacan police

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — A member of the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (RHB), a Communist-Terrorist Group (CTG), voluntarily surrendered to the Bulacan PNP in the Municipality of San Rafael.

Based on the statement of Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan provincial director on Saturday (June 29), the surrendered member of the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (RHB) of Apolonio – Mendoza Central Luzon Command was identified as alias Buboy, a 38-year-old male.

Arnedo said that on Friday, at about 11 a.m. at Brgy. Sampaloc, San Rafael town joint elements of the Bulacan PIU and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) facilitated the surrender of the individual.

Alias Buboy turned over one Cal. 38 revolver without a serial number, three pieces of cal. 38 live ammunition, and one hand grenade to personnel of the Bulacan 2nd PMFC.

The surrendered CTG member was immediately released after the interview.

“Bulacan Police is stern in its intensified campaign against insurgency and terrorism to ensure the provision of social services, employment opportunities, and an improved quality of life in communities that have been experiencing or are vulnerable to armed communist conflict,” Arnedo said.

He added, they joined the rebel group to advocate for government reform, equal rights, and social justice. Their surrender now shows their commitment to realign with the government for these goals. (UnliNews Online)
