PRO3, ready for earthquake

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) actively participated in the 2nd Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held on Friday afternoon (June 28).

According to Brig. Gen. JOse S. Hidalgo Jr., Regional Director of PRO3, the drill aimed to prepare PNP personnel and other employees inside the camp for potential earthquakes. The key practice emphasized the safest actions during an earthquake: drop to the ground, find cover, and hold on.

The drill commenced with a one-minute siren, prompting all PNP personnel, teachers, students, and employees to drop to the floor, take cover under tables, and hold on. Participants then proceeded outside, walking in a single file with hands protecting their heads from potential falling objects. They moved calmly to the designated evacuation area, the Parade Ground in front of the Admin Building, to avoid causing panic during an earthquake.

The annual earthquake drill enhances awareness, preparedness, and readiness among PRO3 PNP personnel and employees for real-life earthquake scenarios.

During the drill, Col. Maharlika Oscar C. Villasis, Chief of the Regional Learning Doctrine and Development Division of PRO3, highlighted the commitment of public servants to provide service and protection, emphasizing personal safety as equally important. “We continuously prepare through extensive trainings and seminars, ensuring readiness and staying informed,” he emphasized.

Approximately 300 PNP personnel and employees actively participated in the drill, underscoring PRO3’s dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of its personnel and stakeholders. (UnliNews Online)
