CITY OF MALOLOS — Governor Daniel R. Fernando continues to honor his commitment on universal health care for the Bulakenyos as he, together with Department of Health (DOH) Region 3 Regional Director Corazon I. Flores and other local officials, led the inauguration of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Medicine Section of the Bulacan Medical Center in this city on Monday (July 1).
Fernando thanked everyone who helped him in realizing his goals of delivering the best medical services to every Bulakenyo.
“Lagi nating tandaan na ang pangmatagalang kaunlaran ay magsisimula sa pagkakaroon ng isang malusog at ligtas na pamayanan. So let us all move forward and achieve a healthy future for all,” the governor said.
The governor also witnessed the blessing of the newly-turned over Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinic from DOH through First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos.
Flores said that the mobile clinic has a laboratory, x-ray machine, and ultrasound that will surely aid many Bulakenyos.
“I would like to say, ‘yung mga equipment na ipinakita sa atin [sa Ophthalmology Department], latest po lahat ‘yan. Congratulations po mula sa Department of Health-Central Luzon, lubos po kaming natutuwa and we are really grateful na pina-prioritize po ninyo dito sa ating bayan, sa ating probinsyang Bulacan, ang kalusugan,” the regional director said.
According to Dr. Anna Marie Joy S. De Leon, the head of the department, their newly-inaugurated department offers Cataract and comprehensive Ophthalmology services, Retina services, Pediatric Ophthalmology services, Glaucoma services, Eye Plastic Surgery, and Refraction and Optometry.
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is open Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. (UnliNews Online)
