Pandi, top LGU in Bulacan in ‘Sandugo’ award

THE Department of Health (DOH) Region III recognized the local government of Pandi, as the number one performing local government unit in the province of Bulacan in blood donation program during the Sandugo Awarding Ceremony held recenly at the Royce Hotel, Clark, Pampanga.

The “Sandugo” award was conferred to the town of Pandi under the leadership of Mayor Enrico Roque for their support and commitment to the promotion of Voluntary Non-Remunerated Blood donation of the Department of Health through community blood donation drives.

Roque also awarded as the Dugong Bayani Champion Life Saver for being among the top implementer LGUs on the Voluntary Blood Services Program with a blood donation rate of 1.46 of their total population blood units for the year 2023.

Roque thanked the various stakeholders for supporting the local government’s program “Dugong alay mo, karugtong buhay ko,” which received the Sandugo Award from the Department of Health.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nakibahagi sa programang ito,” the mayor said.

“At higit sa lahat, maraming maraming salamat po sa lahat ng ating mga blood donors. Kayo po ang dahilan kung bakit tayo naging no. 1 sa buong Bulacan. Para po sa inyo ang karangalang ito,” he added.

The Sandugo award is given to LGUs, government organizations or units, private sector and individuals in appreciation of their contributions and support to the NVBS.

Republic Act 7719, also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994, promotes Voluntary Blood Donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks. (UnliNews Online)
