CANDELARIA, Zambales — In time for the opening of the Academic Year 2024, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Zambales 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) led the distribution of bags, notebooks, pad papers, rulers, pencils, crayons, and plastic envelopes to students of Dampay Elementary School in Candelaria recently.

Under the “Gamit Pang-Eskwela, Handog ay Saya” program of the District Engineers League of the Philippines, Inc. (DELP), the initiative provided essential school kits and materials for 173 students.

“Education is essential for everyone’s growth and future success. Through hard work and dedication, you have the potential to achieve great things. These educational materials are not just tools for the classroom; they represent the start of your journey towards reaching your goals and making a positive impact,” remarked District Engineer Hermon Ines.

Ines also noted that the district office’s Maintenance Section ensured the school was fully prepared for the academic year by completing necessary repairs and maintenance.

Meanwhile, Principal Marilou Pajar expressed appreciation for DPWH’s initiative, noting that the distribution of school supplies will positively impact the students’ educational experience and contribute to their success in the upcoming school year.
