CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — As a creative nod to the town’s growing reputation as a premier leisure destination, Pandi town made waves as the top winner with their show-stopping float themed around water parks and wave pools at the Parada ng Karosa 2024 held in front of the Provincial Capitol Building here recently.
Being the best float this year, Pandi town took home P100,000 cash prize, a trophy and products from Sunnyware Philippines while the Group of Bulacan Events Professionals won 2nd place with P70,000 cash prize and Guiguinto town being on 3rd place with P50,000, both receiving their trophies as well.
Pandi Tourism Officer Maria Jemabelle Bagay said that they came up with their own distinct concept, highlighting the rich tourism and cultural heritage of Bulacan, which captivated both the judges and the spectators.
“Pinag-isipan po namin mabuti ang theme na ilalaban namin and since sa Bayan ng Pandi makikita ang maraming private resorts and biggest wave pool, naisipan po namin na tourist destination po ang i-feature po namin ngayong taon,” she said.
On his part, Mayor Rico Roque proudly said that “Everyone who passed by was impressed and smiled by our modern and electrifying float, which looked like a moving attraction! There are elements of water, waves, and dazzling lights as if we literally brought the fun of resorts and wavepools to the town of Pandi in the middle of the parade!”
Additionally, the floats from Angat, Bocaue, the City of Malolos, and the Bulacan Event Supplier Association were awarded consolation prizes, each receiving P20,000 cash prize and a trophy.
The Parada ng Karosa is one of the signature events of the Singkaban Festival participated by 19 competing floats and 13 non-competing floats from different local government units and organizations, celebrating the arts, culture, history and tourism of Bulacan. (UnliNews Online)
