Bulacan police, Comelec ready for filing of COCs

CITY OF MALOLOS — Bulacan Police Provincial Office (Bul PPO) and Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on Monday (Sept. 30) conducted a thorough ocular inspection at The Pavilion of the Hiyas Convention Center here where the filing of the certificate of candidacy of the aspiring candidates in the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections held starting on Tuesday.

Col. Satur Ediong, Bulacan provincial director and Bulacan Provincial Election Supervisor, Atty. Mona Ann T. Aldana-Campos assured the the filing of candidacy on Tuesday is peaceful and in order.

According to Campos, the filing period is scheduled to take place from October 1 to 8, 2024, between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“The purpose of the inspection was to ensure that the venue is well-prepared to accommodate the expected candidates and to verify the implementation of security and logistical measures to maintain order throughout the filing process,” Campos said.

Col. Ediong, on the other hand, emphasized the importance of coordinating with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and local government units to ensure a peaceful and orderly COC filing.

“I assured that the Bulacan Police Provincial Office would be on full alert during the period to provide assistance and security as part of its commitment to safeguarding the electoral process,” the top cop said.

Ediong added that the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, in coordination with COMELEC and other relevant agencies, will continue to monitor the venue and implement necessary security protocols to guarantee a secure environment for candidates and the public. (UnliNews Online)
