CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — In preparation for the 2025 midterm elections, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has deployed a total of 4,304 PNP personnel to secure various Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices across the region, ensuring a peaceful, orderly, and transparent process during the filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COCs), which began Tuesday, October 1.
The deployment covers key areas, including major cities, municipalities, and other strategic locations where filing activities are anticipated. PNP personnel are tasked with ensuring the safety and security of candidates, their supporters, and the general public while managing potential security threats and ensuring compliance with election laws.
PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Redrico A. Maranan emphasized the PNP’s commitment to uphold public safety throughout the electoral process.
“We are fully prepared to respond to any situation that may arise during the filing of COCs. Our personnel are stationed at COMELEC offices and other crucial areas to guarantee that the process remains peaceful and transparent.” Maranan said.
On the first day of filing, no incidents transpired, highlighting the effectiveness of the PNP’s security measures in maintaining peace during the process.
In addition to the security deployment, the PNP is closely coordinating with the COMELEC and other law enforcement agencies to address any concerns swiftly. “We call on all candidates and their supporters to follow the rules and regulations set forth by the COMELEC and to promote a peaceful and orderly filing process,” Maranan added.
